Do you remember playing ‘hide and seek’ or ‘murder in the dark’ when you were a child? Your ears would seem to pick up even the lightest of rustles and movements; smells would seem stronger, and when you touched things, you were sure you could feel them better. There’s a reason for that. The absence of vision or light heightens all our other senses.
An oldie but a goodie, this central London restaurant has been delighting visitors for nearly 20 years with meals served in total darkness.
Dans Le Noir has been on my bucket list for the past two years; this week, I finally had the chance to experience one of the world’s most original dining concepts; I can’t wait to tell you all about it! I love looking for dining concepts and immersive experiences which catapult you into a new way of dining, and Dans Le Noir certainly ticked the boxes for both, making it an unforgettable night.
Dans Le Noir? is French for 'in the dark' and is located in Farringdon in London. At the restaurant, you will enjoy a surprise menu which means you won't know what you are eating before you eat it, making the experience even more fun.
“ONE OF THE MOST ORIGINAL RESTAURANT EXPERIENCES IN THE WORLD.”
One of the things that made our time at Dans Le Noir so lovely was the fantastic staff in both the light and the darkness. We left Dans Le Noir full of laughter and fond memories (and just full in general because did we mention the food was amazing?)
"Where would you recommend for a first date? The restaurant Dans le Noir, which really tests your sensory ability. You put your phone in a locker and blind waiters and waitresses guide you into a pitch-black room where you can’t even see your hand in front of your face."
